Nani Ghar
An Animated TV Show
Three friends- Kaju, Cheeku and Toffee spend their summer vacations at their nani's ghar adventuring in the plateaus of Tilom while accidentally saving the world. Plot twist, the nanis are the villains...or are they?
We felt a lack of representation for Indian stories and context in the existing cartoon shows. We wanted to make a show that has Indian values, emotions and storytelling but does not restrict itself to mythology or previously constructed story structures. Despite our diversity, a majority of us have had a ritual of visit our grandparents during summer vacations. Nani ghar would always hold a special importance and gateway to memories that feel nostalgic, warm, carefree. Nani Ghar, show tries to be a similar place for people to revisit their childhoods or for kids to remember. Town of Nanis- Tilom, draws inspiration from our respective hometowns in Jammu and Madhya Pradesh, as well as many Indian towns where the people and culture seem to be slowly fading.
